Suspenseful Drama

Then She Was Gone, By Lisa Jewell

May 26, 2005 changed Paul, Laurel, Jake, Hanna, and Ellie Mack’s lives forever. It was the day, the youngest daughter, Ellie, was headed to the library to study for an upcoming exam for school, but never arrived at her destination. What had happened to this 15 year old? The police thought she was a runaway, but Ellie was not that sort of young lady.

Ellie had always been the favorite child of her mother, Laurel. Ellie, who was her mother’s favorite, was the popular, athletic, and smartest child; she was easy to love. With the fate of Ellie unknown, it takes a toll not only on their other daughter Hanna, but also Laurel and Paul’s marriage.

One day, ten years after Ellie has gone missing, Laurel finds herself drawn to a new love interest and soon is falling head over heels for the kind single father, Floyd Dunn. Laurel soon discovers that there is something eerily familiar about Floyd’s daughter and is forced to face the past she left behind.

How does everything fit together and what really happened to Ellie Mack? Laurel searches for answers and what she discovers is the courageous strength of Ellie, the unimaginable truth, and how even in the darkest days there is always an unexpected blessing to light our way.
