The Couch Potato

Books by Jory John and Pete Oswald are becoming favorites in our house! They always have such a great message and The Couch Potato falls right in line.
If you have a child who loves to be a couch potato then this is the perfect book for you! In this book the couch potato has everything it needs. TV to watch, video games to play, movies to watch, friends to zoom with... all on the screens! Everything within arms-reach and the comfiest place to sit! Why would anyone want to go outside or get up when they have all that right there!?!?!
Well, one day the power goes out and Couch Potato has to head outdoors! He is so surprised at the world he sees. A beautiful tree that looks just like his desktop screen! Ha! He sees that there is so much to do outside and so much he can do with his friends outside too!
When he gets back home (after watching a beautiful sunset), the power has been restored and Couch Potato has a choice to make... will he go back to his way of living on the couch or will he decide to have a good balance of both worlds?
I think that this is the perfect book if you have kids who like to have lots of screen time and don't want to get outside! It is a funny book as well as having an excellent point.
