Nacho Libre

Movie Review Nacho Libre Screenwriters: Jared Hess Jerusha Hess and Mike White Nacho Libre is a ridiculously funny comedy.  The main character Ignacio played by Jack Black is a cook at the Oaxaca monastery orphanage where he grew up.  His dream is to become a luchador, but wrestling is considered a form of vanity and so it is completely forbidden.   He loves the children in the monastery deeply but is not able to afford good food to fix for them.  One night Ignacio is mugged while collecting a bag of Nacho Chips that was donated for the orphans.  In his struggle to fight off the thief and steal back the Lordś Chips, He decides to ignore the rule of no fighting and signs up to be a luchador in order to make money for the children.  He convinces Stephen, the thief, to join him and they become partners at a local tag team competition.   In order to keep his identity a secret, he changes his name to Nacho and his partner becomes Esqueleto.  They lose the first match, but surprisingly get paid anyway as the crowd loves them and chant their names.  The hilarity ensues as they fight impossible odds and Nacho starts to fall in love with the new teacher Sister Encarnacion, a nun.  Jack Black is known for his comedy and this movie will surely keep you laughing.  I encourage you to watch this movie and find out how it will end.  It is a classic that never gets old.
