Great Christmas Story

The Christmas Bless

ing

By: Donna VanLiere

The Christmas Blessing is Donna VanLieres sequel to the book; The Christmas Shoes. It is as touching as the first with unexpected blessings. Get those tissues ready again!

This book picks up with Nathan Andrew in his third year as a medical student. In the first book, Nathan, as a child, looses his mother to cancer prompting his desire to be a doctor. As he begins to question why he is in medical school after the pain of losing a patient, he realizes that he still has things to learn about faith, sacrifice, blessings, and love.

We all have a journey in this life, just as Nathan and the other characters in these books experience. Some of us search a lifetime for our purpose and others seem to know very early.

This is a quote from the book that sums up all of our lives to one degree or other.

“We may not discover that purpose in the way that we’d want, as time in the valley will be longer and darker than we imagined, but if we are patient or still long enough, we will catch it in fleeting glimpses. We will see tiny sparks of revelation that push us closer and closer to our destiny. There will be pain, sometimes more than we bargained for, but as my mother promised so many years ago, in the end, there will be joy.” (Nathan Andrews).

After all, we don’t know true joy, love, and blessings when we reach the mountaintop without the experiences in the valley that shape our morals, character, and heart.
