A Wrinkle in Time
Written by: Madeleine L’Engle
The book, A Wrinkle in Time, was written by Madeleine L’Engle in 1962 and centers around the Murry family. I recently found out that it became a movie in February 2018 which I was very excited about.
Mr. and Mrs. Murry are scientists and Mr. Murry has been away working on a scientific project involving something called “tesseract” for five years. The family expects him to return, but the town people and the school principal do not think he will be returning. They try to help the children face that fact and try to encourage them to move on with life without their father.
Meg Murry and her little brother, Charles Wallace meet three mysterious, astral travelers known as Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which. These travelers lead them, along with a classmate, Calvin O’Keefe, on a dangerous and mysterious journey to find Mr. Murry. They encounter lovely and terrifying circumstances along this difficult, but rewarding journey.
I would recommend this book to youth as well as adults. It is available in the juvenile section in Stanton Memorial Library.
