Dannie and Bella have been best friends since second grade. Their personalities could not be more different. Dannie lives her life by the numbers. She sets goals and reaches deadlines. She’s finished college, accepted her boyfriend’s marriage proposal, and is interviewing for her dream job of being a lawyer. Bella, on the other hand, is an impulsive and whimsical artist. She has access to unlimited family money, falls in love easily, and is opening her own art gallery.
During Dannie’s job interview, she is asked where she expects to be in her life in five years. She has her answer prepared and indeed succeeds in getting her dream job. That night she goes to sleep and wakes up a little before 11:00 pm. She finds herself in a different bed, a different apartment, a different ring on her finger, and a different man in the same bed. Dannie spends one hour in what appears to be her future. She sees the date, December 15, 2025 running across the TV during the weather report that is currently airing.
Once Dannie wakes again, she is in her own bed, in her own apartment, with her own ring on her finger, and her boyfriend in her bed. She doesn’t want anyone to know what’s happened or they will think she is crazy.
Jumping ahead to four and a half years, we find Dannie is still engaged and working hard at her dream job. Bella has a new love and wants to introduce him to Dannie. This is the same man in Dannie’s dream so long ago of her future experience. Dannie knows she would never hurt or betray her best friend, but the dream seems so real, especially in light of the timeline and meeting this man at this time.
Dannie finds herself meeting him in an unfinished apartment that he is the lead architect seeing over the redesign. This is the very apartment from her dream as well! Dannie wrestles with thoughts of her dream and betraying her best friend. How could she? Does she really?
Dannie decides she must be married by the December 15, 2025 date so the dream will not come true. She throws everything she has into her wedding plans until the unexpected happens…
