The first book in the Sullivan's Crossing series introduces the reader to Maggie Sullivan. Maggie is a neurosurgeon in Denver. When a risky emergency procedure results in the death of a teenager, Maggie is faced with a lawsuit.  She needs to slow down so she decides to return home to Sullivan's Crossing, a small town located near the intersection of the Continental Divide Trail and the Colorado Trail. The town was named for her grandfather and has been passed down to her  father.  Maggie shows up in Sullivan's Crossing unannounced. Soon after her arrival Maggie is forced to take on more responsibility around the store and the  campground.

Will Maggie decide to stay in Sullivan's Crossing or will  she go back to Denver.
