We Don’t Eat Our Classmates

By Ryan T. Higgins

We don’t eat our classmates is a wonderful children’s book that will cause the reader and listeners alike to laugh out loud. The main character of the book is a dinosaur named Penelope Rex. On her first day of school, she is surprised to find out her classmates are all children, which happens to be her favorite snack. As you can imagine Penelope swallows a classmate and the teacher sternly tells her she must spit her classmate right back out! “We do not eat our classmates!” The children become terrified of Penelope as she tries to hold in the urge to eat them.

Penelope becomes lonely as she is having a difficult time making friends with the children whom she has tried to eat, so she decides to make friends with the class pet, a fish named Walter. As she reaches into the fishbowl to say hello . Walter grabs onto Penelope’s finger and does not let go. “AAAAHHHHHHHRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! “ screamed Penelope, but the fish held on tight. “The fish is trying to eat me!” At this moment Penelope realizes that it is not at all fun to be someone else’s snack. She apologized to her classmates and promised to never eat them again.

If you love to laugh and hear your children laugh then this is the book for you. I hope you enjoy it.
